I ordered the mussels in spicy sauce for appetizer and ravioli filled with fish with fresh tomatoes and sprinkled pistachios. The sauce from the mussels was so delicious we had to asked for more bread to dip it in the sauce.

Adorable place by the seaside!! The servers were so kind and the food was simply delicious. Would absolutely recommend if you are in Gallipoli. The orrechiette were amazing!

We went to this delightful little restaurant overlooking the sea last night. Seems to be family run - very friendly! Our cheerful, enthusiastic and capable waiter helpfully spoke a little English. To start I had octopus, of course, tender, warm with olives and drenched in lemony olive oil, the husband had a big fish-shaped bowl of lovely big mussels in a spicy tomato sauce, with pizza-ish bread to mop up the juices. Then he had a tender, moist breadcrumbed swordfish steak and I had the grilled cuttle fish with rocket and fresh tomatoes. Scrumptious. Just one dessert to choose from, so we had it! A tall glass of tangy slushy lemon sorbetto that you sucked through a straw. The perfect finish to a really wonderful evening.- Servizio

Delicious food and good service, And also a beautiful view at night on the sea with an affordable price for tourists, and also do not worry if you do not speak Italian, the Waiter speak English and French and he's so nice person.

Yesterday, while wandering around Gallipoli, I searched for a restaurant for lunch. I came upon Il Polpo. It was a beautiful spring day and the restaurant was nearly fully booked but they found me a seat. Despite being very busy the staff were all friendly and accommodating. There were two dishes I really wanted to taste and knowing that I couldn't really eat both of them, I ordered them anyway. I am so glad I did!
I started with Polpette di Polpo (Octopus Meatballs). They were revelatory: perfectly cooked, tender and juicy. I was very surprised with the use of cheese, Pecorino I think, in a seafood dish but the flavors worked really well together. REALLY well.
For my next dish, I had ordered Spaghetti alle Vongole (Spaghetti with Clams). A short while later Mario, my waiter, came dashing out of the kitchen to tell me that they had run out of clams and to ask if it would be OK to use mussels. I like mussels even more than clams, so it was an easy sell. The mussels were tiny and very fresh. They had been removed from their shells to make eating easier. I can't explain why but this was THE BEST SPAGHETTI WITH MUSSELS (OR CLAMS FOR THAT MATTER) THAT I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! (Remember, I went to culinary school in a seaside town in Calabria so I've eaten lots of pasta with seafood.)
I am returning to Puglia in July and I will definitely make the trip to Gallipoli to eat at Il Polpo again.- Servizio

Very cozy and nice place. The owners are really friendly and helpful. Food was quickly, so fresh and tasty. We order home wine and it’s was delicious. So, I can totally recommend this place - your feel yourself look like home, but with the amazing view front the sea. I definitely come back ) Thank you so much for our nice dinner.

Luigi took great care of us on a blazing hot evening. Served fast which was important having five children under ten in our party of nine. We really enjoyed the evening!
